Time to update EU digital policy
The competitiveness and future of the European automotive industry - and thus its contribution to a strong Europe - depend to a large extent on European digital policy. In order for the European automotive industry to remain competitive in an increasingly digital and networked world, the VDA believes that better regulatory conditions and additional measures from the European Commission are required. The key requirement here is an efficient and consistent regulatory environment. In addition, concrete measures and regulatory conditions are required on topics such as Software Defined Vehicles (SDV), vehicle-generated data, Cybersecurity, automated and autonomous driving, Artificial intelligence (AI) and international data transfer.
