    E-fuels and piston engine

There are 1.5 billion piston engine vehicles on the road worldwide. With synthetically produced fuels from renewable energies, they can make a contribution to climate protection, too.

It's not the engine that's the problem, it's the fossil fuel

To meet climate protection targets, CO₂ emissions from transport must continue to be significantly reduced in the coming decades. Alongside electromobility, highly efficient combustion engines powered by synthetic fuels — so-called electrofuels (e-fuels) — are promising.

    The latest developments

The climate protection targets can only be met with e-fuels. They complement battery drives where they reach their limits.
