“Zero-emission operation 24/7” – light commercial vehicles with hydrogen-fuel cell drives
For commercial needs, customers expect zero-emission powertrains with a long range and low total operating costs.
Their operating model does not allow for long idle times due to electric charging. With hydrogen, rapid refueling is possible within three minutes at ranges of over 400 kilometers.
The central function of light commercial vehicles, being able to transport large and heavy loads, is retained in Opel's drive concept. Load volume and payload are just as high as with combustion engine versions.
The Opel Vivaro van with fuel cell: An emission-free light commercial vehicle that offers high payload, a long range, and fast refueling with hydrogen.
Invented by Peter Gross and the Hydrogen und Fuel-cell Center of Competence.
